How to Use RSS

RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication and alerts you every time this blog is updated with a new post. To subscribe to my RSS feed, do the following:

1. Choose a Feed Reader.

A. Choose one of the Feed Readers icons from the drop-down menu.

You have a choice between web-based readers and standalone readers.

  • Web-based readers are plugins that works within an existing program like Internet Explorer.
  • Standalone readers are programs that process RSS feeds for you. You will need to install, configure, and get used to using it.

If you are new to all this, a simple reader to use is the Google reader. It is free and easy to use. Here is how to select the Google Reader:

1. Click the RSS button  on my blog.

2. In the Subscribe Now! box, select  .

The Google page appears.

4. If you have a Google account, log in and you are done! If you don’t have an account, create one and then log in.

If you don’t want to do any of this, I would subscribe through email.

To do this:

1. Click on Get On the Write Road delivered by email .

2. Enter your email address, type the text you see in the box above, and click Complete Subscription Request. That’s it.
